Myrtle Beach, SC (September 12, 2009) - When Nathan and Kylie Conrad found out their dad, Randy, had won the 2009 Digger™ Block Party they could hardly contain themselves! Little did they know at the time just how big of a prize their father had really won.
As winner of the 2009 Digger™ Block Party, the Conrad family was set to receive a party with 50 of their closest friends and family, catering from one of the best BBQ places in South Carolina, a live DJ spinning music all afternoon, huge prize giveaways with the newest Grave Digger® merchandise, and best of all a Grave Digger display, featuring special guest, the legendary, Dennis Anderson.
Nathan and Kylie’s eyes lit up as Chad Tingler slowly rolled the huge Grave Digger semi down their block. Neighbors were already starting to peer out of their windows and wonder just what could be in this huge white truck with Monster Jam® logos on the back. As the doors opened the whole Conrad family got a firsthand look at how huge Grave Digger really is. The Conrad kids and their friends watched nearby as Chad Tingler unloaded Grave Digger and wrenched on those huge 700 pound tires. “Just wait until Dennis gets here, you kids are going to get a real treat”, said Chad and he was right. Dennis arrived 10 minutes later and the crowd immediately surrounded him. “Before we give away any of these great prizes, we first must eat” said Dennis as he made his was to the food table and proudly served all 50 people in attendance before serving himself.
After lunch Dennis grabbed the microphone as the DJ played “Bad to the Bone” and told all the kids about the legacy of Grave Digger. Dennis then gave a pop quiz on Digger history and gave out over 30 prizes. At 2:00pm, members of the local Myrtle Beach fire department showed up with their family. The party wrapped up around 3:00pm and at this point the almost 70 people in attendance watched the big green machine get tired down and loaded back up in the semi.
The Conrad family had the block party of a lifetime and I’m sure when they arrive at Monster Jam next year Randy, Melissa, Nathan and Kylie will all be screaming at the top of their lungs when they hear “Bad To The Bone” and see Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger come roaring out of the tunnel.
